Solar Thermal

The indicative cost includes the following and is subject to a site-specific quotation:

  • Solar collectors

  • 250 ltr cylinder

  • Pumping station

  • Controller

  • All ancillary components including glycol

  • Full installation and commissioning

  • 10 year Guarantee on parts and labour

Domestic Installations

Typical installation costs are illustrated below:

2 to 3 Bed Properties: £2,500 to £3,500

3 to 4 Bed Properties: £3,000 to £4,000

4 to 5 Bed Properties: £3,500 to £5,000

VAT for the installation of solar thermal systems is charged at 5%.

Commercial Installations

Commercial installations can have a vast variation in the cost; labour, pipework, and fittings are dependent upon site-specific issues.

The most important issue is the location of the solar collectors and the hot water storage and the degree of complication in running the pipe-runs from the collectors to the hot water storage and the ease of establishing safe working access on the roof area where the collectors are to be mounted.

Servicing & Maintenance

Solar thermal heating systems are low maintenance systems and require an annual or bi-annual planned servicing.
